About the Opportunity:
This position performs Quality Engineering technical assignments using aerospace manufacturing quality engineering compliance practices and principles as directed by Nadcap or other similar organizations, productionizing new programs and capital plans. Designs, implements and develops solutions to manufacturing methods controls compliance, relating to materials, special processes. Lead compliance activities and audits related to site current and future special processes (heat treating, fluorescent penetrant inspection, blue etch inspection and chemical processing).
Location: Whitesboro, NY
This position is 100% on site.
Responsibilities:
- Develops new special processes compliance controls through customer/Nadcap certification and production implementation.
- Implements processes of developing and certifying operating personnel, focused on the ability to process one part to the ability to process parts at the business model.
- Provides qualified support by troubleshooting problems and effecting timely solutions to maintain the continuity of production flow.
- Designs special processes compliance controls within schedule and budgetary parameters.
- Monitors and debugs new methods and procedures to ensure system efficiencies.
- Monitors process and ensures abnormalities are correctly identified and cost-effective solutions are implemented
- Operate and maintain systems which assure raw materials, products and processes are tested and certified as conforming to all customer requirements.
- Interfaces with all manufacturing, quality and engineering folks to drive program objectives.
- Interfaces with technical and non-technical vendors and outside sales personnel to evaluate cost estimate and implement solutions to meet program objectives.
- Analyze & interpret the data on the customer blueprints and specifications to determine the best way to proceed to reach the desired outcomes. Drives team to most efficient process for product manufacture.
- Compile information, coordinate testing, and issue reports to obtain customer approval for manufacturing processes.
- Provide advice and counsel to other departments regarding metallurgical, material, chemical, heating and other technical subjects related to special processes.
- Work as required with customer, third party auditing entities or supplier representatives to assure all quality requirements are satisfied.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline is required from an accredited college or university.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive previous experience in aerospace industry special processes might be considered in-lieu of education
- The preferred candidate will have some experience in one or more of the following processes and be motivated to learn the rest: heat treating, chemical milling, descaling, FPI and blue etch anodize processes.
- This position requires solid problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Must be detail oriented and organized with good communication skills to interface with all members of the organization as well as customer representatives.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Familiarity with Nadcap program and internal auditing desired.
- Ability to understand and follow Pursuit Aerospace quality system requirements

Working Conditions:
- Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
- Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
