THE ROLE:

This Finance Manager role is a high-visibility position within AMD's Finance organization. This role is responsible for monthly OEM Revenue accounting close, technical accounting evaluations, and Finance projects. This role requires knowledge and application of accounting under ASC 606, SOX requirements and controls, execution of operational accounting and finance responsibilities, strong accounting and data analysis, involvement in integration projects related to newly acquired businesses, and cross functional collaboration.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should have a bias for action, a high sense of collaboration, problem solving and analytical skills, and the ability make recommendations in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, we are looking for a teammate with leadership experience that will take ownership of the role, drive improvements in execution, and implement standardized work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Close, SOX Controls & Audits

  • Maintain up to date knowledge on U.S. GAAP revenue and SOX/ICFR literature
  • Lead the monthly and quarter-end close process for OEM customers
  • Lead and provide guidance in analysis of OEM revenue transactions
  • Support SOX compliance for revenue controls and processes
  • Support alignment with Global Internal Controls Compliance Organization
  • Support internal and external financial / compliance audits
  • Proactively drive for continuous revenue finance process improvement and communications and be a key team member on revenue related projects

Technical Accounting & Business Partnering

  • Perform technical accounting evaluations when required, including partnering with Business Unit Finance for specific contracts
  • Manage select revenue contract reviews & summary read outs / conclusions

IT Projects / Process Improvements

  • Represent the Revenue Finance Team in IT projects that involve OEM revenue
  • Collaborate with Sales Finance, Business Unit Finance, Global Operations Finance, Customer Operations, Sales Operations, & IT on problem solving and process improvements

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment and know how to prioritize
  • Progressive experience in accounting related field
  • Ideal candidate has previous experience working for a Big 4 Accounting Firm
  • Public Accounting experience
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in managing a team
  • Proactive and results oriented
  • Self-starter with positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • SAP S/4 and SAP RAR knowledge is a plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in related discipline preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant
