Job Description

This role is for a Level 2 Electrical Technician with limited expertise in electrical work. Candidates may have residential wiring experience but no background in control wiring. The position requires the ability to read basic drawings, identify components in a control panel, and work confidently with hand tools and meters. Training will be provided to strengthen technical skills, but candidates must demonstrate the ability to comprehend tasks, retain knowledge, and show a strong desire to learn. Work must be performed in accordance with health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO 9001, etc.) as well as company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities




  • Install wire labels and device tags accurately



  • Use FAB shop power tools proficiently and safely



  • Read and interpret tape measures (metric and standard) and other measuring devices



  • Identify wire gauges, colors, and ampacities, and apply them appropriately



  • Read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings with minimal assistance



  • Recognize hardware components within a control system



  • Fabricate entire back plates, enclosures, and wire control panels and enclosure doors



  • Identify wiring or drawing errors and report them to engineering for correction



  • Distinguish between stainless steel and painted steel, and use appropriate tools for each material




Qualifications




  • 1-2 years of experience in the electrical field



  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings



  • Confident with hand tools and all types of power tools with minimal guidance



  • Strong understanding of wire gauges, ampacities, and their applications



  • Competence in installing wire labels and device tags



  • Attention to detail and ability to follow safety, quality, and compliance standards



  • High school diploma or GED required
