Description

As aWeld Program Instructor/ Welder you will provide technical guidance and expertise in the field of welding and fabrication to meet the requirements of international code/standards and client contract specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Provide technical guidance for the preparation of welding procedure specifications (WPS).
  • Assist in preparation of method statements and technical work instruction related to welding jobs.
  • Maintain safe working/training conditions for program site.
  • Maintain curriculum in compliance with AWS Certification for AWS Welder Training.
  • Procure welding supplies and materials for training program.
  • Direct and participate in locating and recruiting participants for the Welder Training Program.
  • Assist in the preparation of the QA Manual.
  • Review QA Manual and procedures periodically.
  • Resolve conflict when possible.
  • Prepare resolutions for non-conformance.
  • Maintain discipline and keep all students safe.
  • Follow pre-established and approved course curriculum which includes classroom and practical training.
  • Prepare students to take the Welding Certification test.
  • Review, grade and return assignments.
  • Initiate new ideas for the department.
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of technical experience in inspection and testing of welds.
  • Practical work experience.


Preferred Certifications:



  • NDE Level II Certifications: MT, PT, UT, VT and EC.
