Kilpatrick, a large international law firm, is seeking an Event Coordinator for our Marketing Department in our Winston-Salem office. This position will be part of our team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff providing a high level of service to both internal and external clients. This position will provide primary support to lawyers and professional staff in the Firm's Winston-Salem office for client events ranging from CLE opportunities to sporting events and social events. This position will also support the Firm's two Event Managers as well as managers supporting other team offices and practice teams to coordinate firm-wide client events and key internal events and retreats/conferences. This position will be involved with all logistics associated with these special events, including venue selection, catering, transportation arrangements, accommodations, audio/visual equipment, and other functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Assists Winston-Salem Office Managing Partner and Office Administrator with all aspects of local events. Support Winston-Salem based Marketing & Business Development Manager with regard to key client events, including event planning, budgeting and day-of event management.
  • Works with lawyers, professional staff and other members of the marketing team to curate mailing lists; design, send and manage event invitations and follow up on client development opportunities based on post-event analyses.
  • Works to liaison with outside vendors such as property managers, trade show coordinators, caterers, event planners, and promotional product reps. Serve as primary point of contact for local organizations to coordinate logistics for sponsorships and events.
  • Participates in monthly marketing meetings and regular reporting on event project status to relevant lawyers and professional staff. Manage distribution of tickets for local sporting and community events. Assist with development of Winston-Salem annual marketing budget and ensure the office's compliance with the firm's expense policies and contract review procedures.
  • Support for North Carolina and large firm events as needed (some travel may be required).



KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:



  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two years' experience in conference planning and/or event planning in a complex environment required.
  • Excellent project management skills including managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive and highly organized.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Must be solution-oriented with keen judgment.


  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically under pressure with discretion and finesse


This is a full-time, regular position with a multi-faceted health benefit package including medical, dental, and vision. The firm also offers life insurance, short term disability plans and retirement plans in addition to holidays and paid time off. The firm offers hybrid work schedules combining in office work days as well as remote work days. The pay range for this position in Winston-Salem only $33.33 to $38.46 per hour.
