Rank: This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Instructor: * 1-3 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. * Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. * Active and current license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Colorado or eligibility for Colorado licensure. * Certificate of completion from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) * Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) * Master of Science in Nursing or related medical specialty Sr. Instructor: * 1-3 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. * Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. * Active and current license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Colorado or eligibility for Colorado licensure. * Certificate of completion from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) * Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) * Master of Science in Nursing or related medical specialty Assistant Professor: * 1-3 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. * Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. * Active and current license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Colorado or eligibility for Colorado licensure. * Certificate of completion from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) * Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) * Doctorate in Nursing or related medical specialty. Master's degree and equivalent experience may be substituted.
Preferred Qualifications: (applicable to all ranks) * Experience in consultation-liaison and/or emergency psychiatry * Ability to interpret age specific developmental, physiologic, and unique care needs by assessment and by observation of care delivery. * Experience in making psychiatric diagnoses and managing psychiatric disorders. * Experience working effectively on a psychiatric behavioral health team. * Active before start date to practice as a NP in the State of Colorado. * Active and current license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Colorado or eligibility for Colorado licensure. * Certificate of completion from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) * Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) * Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. * Capacity for flexibility and adaptability in different work situations. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentations to community audiences. * Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and maintain a well-organized work environment. * Demonstrates culturally accountable mental health practices and values. * Has knowledge and applies understanding of cultural differences. Track: Open Track: To support the growth of our faculty, selected candidates at the Assistant Professor level or higher will be offered the opportunity to choose a track that corresponds to their area of excellence.
