Position Summary:

The CNC Lathe Machinist position produces components for new and repaired injection molds for the Medical Industry

Key Responsibilities:



  • Run / set -up CNC Lathe, DMG Mori NLX2000/500, Star Swiss Lathe machines and general tool room equipment.
  • Program with Gibbs Cam, Part Maker, and knowledge of Solid Works.
  • Analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, file, grind, shim, for form fit and function at time of assemble. Adjust different parts to properly fit for function.
  • Build and repair Molds, jigs, fixtures, gauges.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, models, and specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, molds, or assemblies.
  • Interrogate solid models and detailed prints.
  • Critical attention to detail holding tight tolerances.
  • Assume responsibility for quality of workmanship and dimensional accuracy of work performed.
  • Decides on station and timing of each operation to assure efficient use of tools and time.
  • Computes such data as dimensions, rotation speeds, and feed rates.
  • Perform required data collection and record maintenance.
  • Clear communication with shop personnel.
  • Time conscientious on task hours assigned.
  • Efficient machine setups and time management.
  • Efficient tool path strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned



Must Have:



  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Tight tolerance work, +/- 0.0002"


  • Minimum 5 years machining experience.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, team centered work environment.
  • Excellent computer literacy.
  • The willingness to learn current mold building techniques.
  • Work 40 hours per week, w/overtime as necessary.
  • Knowledge of the latest cutting tool technology.
  • CAD and CAM experience
