As an Operations and Maintenance Technician IV - Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, optimization, and installation of a wide range of air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems and equipment across the MWD service area. This includes the support of the operational core of water and power reliability by effectively maintaining and improving the quality of working and operating environments within treatment plants, ozone plants, conveyance and distribution buildings including shops, offices, occupied and unoccupied structures including communication sites and computer rooms, as well as commercial/industrial systems. Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems, technicians support facility and process reliability. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical, mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, and refrigeration systems, which involves refrigerant recovery, brazing, evacuation, charging, leak detection, and performance testing. In addition, the Operations and Maintenance Technician IV installs, calibrate, and maintain associated controls, including pneumatic, digital, and low-voltage safety devices. Operations and Maintenance Technician IV will conduct routine refrigerant leak detection surveys and handle required documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. You will fabricate and install minor sheet metal components for HVAC installations and modifications, while improving the operation of various air distribution and energy management systems. All work must ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE and Title 24) and require collaboration with electricians, plant operators, and engineering staff for seamless system integration. You will provide operational reliability, quality, capacity, and energy efficiency of HVAC system output through a mix of general and advance preventive and corrective maintenance skills to meet or exceed customer expectations. To view the full job description click here: Operations and Maintenance Technician IV - HVAC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR * High school diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency and attainment of journey level skills through a recognized HVAC trade training program and/or applicable related experience within an industrial environment. Relevant Experience is defined as: working experience and knowledge with HVAC, within commercial/industrial, refrigeration, and walk-in environments. Certificates, Licenses and Registrations Requirements * EPA Certification to handle all refrigerants as defined on latest information revision of CFR 40 part 82, subpart F; (three parts-1,2, as a minimum, or universal).
