 The Production Specialist - Flexographic Ink plays a key role in supporting ink production and color quality for flexographic printing operations. This position is responsible for preparing, mixing, and adjusting inks to meet customer and production specifications, ensuring color accuracy, consistency, and compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
 
 Job Responsibilities
 
 
 
 Prepare, mix, and adjust flexographic inks according to production and customer specificationsPerform accurate color matching using drawdowns, spectrophotometer readings, and customer standardsMaintain ink inventory, including receiving, labeling, and proper storageCollaborate with press operators and production staff to ensure inks perform effectively during press runsTroubleshoot ink-related issues such as viscosity, adhesion, drying, and color consistencyFollow all safety, environmental, and quality compliance procedures within the ink room and production areasDocument ink formulations, adjustments, and usage to maintain accurate traceability recordsSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance ink handling processes and print quality
 Job Requirements
 
 
 
 Minimum of 2 years of experience working with flexographic inks in a production, ink room, or printing environmentStrong knowledge of ink mixing, color matching, and press-side troubleshootingProficiency with measurement tools such as spectrophotometers and densitometersUnderstanding of key ink properties, including viscosity, pH, adhesion, and curing/drying characteristicsExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periodsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred

 Experience with both water-based and solvent-based inksFamiliarity with a variety of printing substrates, including film, paper, and boardPrevious experience in a manufacturing or packaging environmentKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or 5S practices
