QA Facilitator

Location: Huntsville Department: Quality Assurance

Reports to: QA Supervisor Shift: Night Shift 9 PM-6 AM

Hourly/Salaried: Salaried FLSA status: Non-exempt

Job Summary:

Responsible for performing daily Q.A. activities as assigned to assure that the products are safe, wholesome, and meets stated requirements.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for pre-operational and operational sanitation.

  • Monitor product attributes to assure product quality is at targeted levels. Assures food safety, regulatory and company compliance. Assures compliance with all established safety procedures.

  • Trains production staff regarding quality standards, product specifications and Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Maintains HACCP, SSOP, Lab and Plant records.

  • Ensures good manufacturing practices

  • Performs pre-operational swabs

  • Compiles reports on nonconforming product and nonconforming plant issues.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understand poultry processing and the equipment associated with the process
  • Have specific knowledge of Company policies, and State and Federal regulations as used in the Poultry Processing Industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Leads, Supervisors and Managers
  • Use of a personal computer to communicate, collect and organize data, and prepare reports and spreadsheets as needed.

Education & Experience:

  • BS Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Animal Science or related field or the equivalent in training and experience.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Conducts periodic audits of the recordkeeping files to insure compliance with company and regulatory policies
  • Attends and participates in safety meetings.
  • Assist with ISO documentation and audits.
