Financial Reporting Manager - Must live in the Seattle Metro Area

We have an opportunity for a Financial Reporting Manager to join our Tacoma Finance team, WA team, reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting. This role is responsible for all GAAP financial reporting in addition to performing technical accounting research that support the accounting and finance organization. Our Company is rapidly growing and we are proud of having an exceptionally high-performing accounting organization. This role will regularly interact with other teams in accounting, tax, treasury, finance, and IT. This position requires strong managerial skills in delegating tasks, reviewing work, presenting key GAAP reporting, as well as providing accounting research and consultation. In this role, you will be a key resource to the Company's internal and external stakeholders in interpreting and assisting decision-making and reporting for the business.

The location for this role is the Seattle Metro area and can be remote or hybrid. (Must live in the Greater Seattle Metro area).

Be a Contributor - What You'll Do



  • Manage our team to ensure period close financial statements and disclosures are prepared and reviewed to a high standard.
  • Proactively assist the accounting organization with technical accounting specific journal entries and present research findings to leadership.
  • Lead our reporting team in preparing year-end financials as well as supporting key documentation for the year-end audit.
  • Present key reporting and accounting metrics each period close.
  • Proactively research, evaluate and present on key accounting concepts and policies to address changes to the business as well as new accounting pronouncements.
  • Lead compliance with GAAP and SOX guidelines including, but not limited to, account reconciliations, control documentation, and journal entry support.
  • Identify process improvements and support new accounting and reporting changes as our business continues to expand.
  • Participate and lead cross-functional teams in Company-wide initiatives and projects.


Be Prepared - What You Bring



  • Minimum of 5 years of financial reporting or technical accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience working with publicly filed companies
  • CPA required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • IPO/S-1 experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting standards, as well as familiarity with SEC requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Commitment to detail and quality and willingness to learn the business as well as challenging accounting concepts.
  • Strong managerial and mentorship skills with an ability to succinctly summarize and communicate upwards.
  • Proficiency with Accounting ERP and reporting software such as Oracle and Workiva.

  • Have a strong understanding of GAAP reporting requirements and other internally requested metrics
  • Become a point-person for key reporting processes while building strong relationships with various team members and business partners across the Company
  • Have contributed in a meaningful way to the Company's high-priority initiatives
  • Have a solid foundation for the understanding and interpreting fluctuations in the Company's financials
