Torch Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer, Senior to join our team at Gunter Maxwell AFB, AL. The Base Maintenance: Integrated Maintenance Data System Central Database (IMDS CDB), Maintenance Scheduling Application Tool (MSAT), Tool Accountability System (TAS) IMDS CDB is an Air Force (AF) enterprise-level automated maintenance management information system for weapon systems. This system provides wartime readiness and operational support of aircraft, trainers, simulators, communications- electronics, and support equipment maintenance activities at worldwide operating bases, Active-Duty Air Force, Air National Guard (ANG), AF Reserve (AFRC), and Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF). As aSenior Systems Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to: 
 
  Identify, describe, and apply emerging IT acquisition strategies, best practices, IT-related performance measures and quality management in support of acquisition planning, information assurance/cybersecurity, test and evaluation processes, verification and validation processes, and/or, fielding and sustaining of lT/software systems; Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications; Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with program specifications; Prepare technical documentation which defines, specifies, and recommends system/subsystem characteristics; Prepare management reports and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using application of engineering principles; Perform validation of software systems including development of analyses/evaluation criteria and procedures, analyses/evaluation of results, and related recommendations; Provide Agile and Digital system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives including, but not limited to, acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight; Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with AF Systems Engineering Assessment Model (SEAM) processes; and, Perform all (system) engineering according to applicable DOD, AF, AFMC directives, instructions, and manuals, to include, but not be limited to, AFI 63-101, AFMAN 63-144, AFMCI 63-1202, AFMAN 63-128, AF/ 99-103 - and their updates, successors (as happens over time).  
   
Job Requirements 
   Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD OR, bachelor's degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, eight of which must be in the DoD. Must hold active DoD Security Clearance (Secret) Manage and maintain Azure/CloudOne environments Configure and troubleshoot public IPs, SKUs (Basic Standard upgrades), locks, and permissions for resources. Oversee virtual machine lifecycle (provisioning, patching, monitoring, troubleshooting). Perform monthly patching on Windows to meet security and compliance requirements. Apply and validate DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, IAVM's and Rev 5 controls for accreditation and audit readiness. Perform security vulnerability scans and track remediation until closure. Conduct Checkmarx and CAST AIP scans for application and code-level security analysis. Renew and maintain DoD certificates (Root CA-6, SSL, service certs) to avoid outages. Manage Key Vault configurations, including enabling purge protection and updating SAS tokens. Coordinate production deployments, ensuring all dependencies are ready before cutover. Execute and troubleshoot workflows and confirm file processing completes successfully. Support SQL deployments, verifying user/logins are created in Dev, Test, and Prod before execution. Create and manage release tickets to track deployment tasks and blockers. Build and maintain ARM/Bicep templates for resource provisioning and configuration management. Automate VM patching, alerting, and storage checks to reduce manual effort. Implement scripts/workflows for deployment consistency across environments. Monitor system performance, resource availability, and application health. 8140 Certification Maintain alert thresholds (e.g., drive space, memory, CPU usage).
