JOB SUMMARY: The Technical Operator is responsible for overall machine operation, machine operator preventative maintenance (PM) activity and related training aspects, and may support chem mix and wastewater management activities. This specialized role will assist in scheduling PM times and activities, documenting PM results and making sure detailed information is provided to maintenance team for repairs and/or parts. The position also acts as a subject matter expert for specific machines.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Acts as specialist or subject matter expert on specific production machines.
- Troubleshooting machines and working with the operators to improve overall knowledge.
- Go to for all trial work for incoming equipment and new parts.
- The first called for all in-depth issues on the line before contacting maintenance for assistance.
- Work with maintenance technicians and process engineers if issues occur and need assistance.
- Develop set points for easy changeover activity
- Maintain and set up recipe needs on all machines for changeover needs
- Involvement in trial/validation work related to specific production machines.
- Work with all supporting departments to complete new item set ups, validation work required, and trial needs.
- Track and maintain all trial and validation information compiled from the events for future needs.
- Update the cage and part needs per trial and validation requirements (work with Alan)
- Onboarding of new equipment for FAT and first run testing (potential travel required)
- Involvement in trial/validation work related to specific production machines.
- Preventative maintenance activity for specific production machines.
- Responsible for scheduling and maintaining PM dates and activities.
- Align needed resources for PM activity from the Maryland facility and external resources.
- Manage all documentation from PM activity via electronic and paper.
- Record all PM findings and actions for future needs.
- Maintain and order needed parts for PM actions for operator PM work.
- Assist in maintaining the parts cage and ensuring levels are in accordance with line needs.
- Provide training related to specific production equipment.
- Provide machine specific training and technical insight on specific production machines for new and existing Machine Operators.
- Coordinate with Training department to maintain and develop all training material needed for specific production machines.
- Chemical Blending Operations
- Operate monitor FactoryTalk Batch systems to execute blending recipes accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare raw materials and equipment for batch production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process deviations or equipment issues.
- Maintain accurate batch records and production logs.
- Act as the front-line response person for upset conditions in the blending process.
- Wastewater Management
- Monitor operate wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with discharge permits and environmental standards.
- Perform routine sampling, testing, and documentation of wastewater parameters.
- Adjust chemical dosing and treatment processes based on analytical results.
- Coordinate with environmental and safety teams on reporting and compliance.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential accountabilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)
- High School Diploma/GED and previous industrial maintenance experience
- Internal associates are required to be at least at Phase II level of Machine Operator or have related experience required in addition to demonstrated technical abilities with production equipment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of JDEdwards, Docushare, production machine recipe entry and experience training others preferred.
