Job Title: Mortgage Underwriter Job Description The Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for ensuring that all reviewed assets meet applicable investor guidelines through a thorough understanding of mortgage requirements and regulations. This role demands precision, accountability, and a commitment to quality in underwriting decisions. Key Responsibilities: * Underwrite a full range of mortgage loans, preferably including FHA products * Review mortgage applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness * Collaborate with clients to prepare and finalize mortgage documentation, resolving outstanding issues * Partner with compliance officers to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations * Approve or deny mortgage applications in a timely and compliant manner Required Skills * Mortgage industry knowledge * Mortgage underwriting expertise * DE Underwriter certification preferred * Credit review and risk assessment Additional Qualifications * High School Diploma required * Solid understanding of automated underwriting systems * Proficiency with AUS platforms (e.g., DU, LP) * Familiarity with mortgage laws and regulations, including the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act * Knowledge of federal and state agency guidelines (FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac) Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
