The Senior Director, Head of Application Architecture, is a strategic and highly visible role reporting directly to the SVP, Chief Architect.

Your Impact:

You will lead the application architecture team for the modernization and architectural evolution of OpenText's application portfolio. Your mission: partner with business units to redesign legacy solutions into cloud-native, AI-native, and platform-aligned products that define the future of enterprise productivity. You will drive reuse, reduce duplication, and ensure architectural readiness for scalable growth and AI-powered.

What the role offers:

As a Senior Director, Head of Application Architecture, you will:

  • Develop and evolve the application modernization strategies to both modernize the existing applications, and develop next-gen, cloud-native solutions
  • Lead the creation of modernization patterns, migration toolkits, and best practices that accelerate application transformation at scale.
  • Lead application architecture efforts to drive adoption of platform services and architectural convergence across the portfolio.
  • Design and govern architectural approaches for customer migration and coexistence strategies - ensuring a smooth transition to future-state solutions.
  • Align application designs with enterprise-wide architectural principles, security standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Act as a key liaison between product & engineering, and GTM teams influence roadmaps, prioritization, and delivery execution.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to product & engineering leadership team and go-to-market teams on application strategy and target architecture.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 12+ years in enterprise application architecture, product innovation, and large-scale system design.
  • Proven track record in driving modernization of existing applications into cloud-native SaaS architectures.
  • Deep knowledge of application patterns (multi-tenant SaaS, modular architecture), API-first design, and cloud deployment models.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and executing customer migration strategies across hybrid environments.
  • Strong understanding of AI-native application patterns (RAG, LLM integration) and real-world production constraints.
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across different stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills, especially in translating architecture into business value.

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we're happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range: $212,520.00 - $349,140.00; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
