Velosity Forest Lake is searching for a Human Resources Assistant to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. The HR Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to the Human Resources department and Recruiting function with hands-on, day-to-day work-related activities such as leading the Associate conversion process; supporting recruiting with applicant review, job postings, phone screens, and scheduling interviews; processing employee changes, and providing general administrative support as needed to all site HR Managers.

This is an on-site position.

The typical pay range for this role: $22.60 - $30.00/hour. This role is also eligible for our 5% quarterly bonus target.

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Essential Duties:

50% of role - Talent Acquisition: Provide support to Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist in the following recruiting related areas:

  • Posting jobs
  • Reviewing applicants
  • Conducting initial telephone screening interviews
  • Sending status updates to candidates & scheduling interviews
  • Supporting/attending job fairs

50% of role - General HR Manager support for Velosity sites:

  • Partner with Forest Lake HR Manager on activities related to onsite Staffing Agency. Own the process for interviewing and converting associates to full-time Velosity employees and ensuring headcount is accurate.
  • Assist with employee communication and activities such as employee recognition, employee events, and wellness activities
  • Run HR reports and track HR data as directed.
  • Maintain and update Human Resources forms as needed.
  • Provide assistance to all site HR Managers with administrative functions as needed such as onboarding/offboarding processes, employee status changes, and other internal job postings
  • Assist with Velosity GO session coordination, logistics, set up, etc.
  • Participate on the safety committee as a back up to the FL Site HR Manager
  • Lead Anniversary celebration program for Forest Lake
  • Provide backup assistance to Litmos (Training) team and site front desk coverage as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred with emphasis in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in an office environment; preferably in a manufacturing environment; prior HR internship experience preferred.
  • The ability to multitask; communicate across the HR team, with other departments, employees and associates in a professional and respectful manner; basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business operating systems.
  • To be able to perform daily tasks safely; To work independently with limited supervision.
  • To deal tactfully with many people with varied personalities and at all levels of the organization; To keep all types of information confidential; Good judgement and discretion.

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Walking is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift 30 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner (results oriented); Ability to make decisions with limited information.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. This position may require one to move throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding/ Precision Machining shop.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
