Advantage Technical is partnering with a global leader in electric vehicles to hire a Design and Release Engineer - Brakes. In this role, you'll support the development of critical brake system components-including calipers, rotors, lines, hoses, and electrical harnesses-from concept through production. This is your chance to contribute to the design of cutting-edge vehicles at the forefront of automotive innovation.

Pay Rate: $45-$51/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week

Responsibilities:



  • Support the design of electro-hydraulic brake system components from initial concept to production launch.
  • Define and document component requirements based on vehicle performance and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop technical solutions under tight time, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Conduct structural and bolted joint analyses to meet safety and durability requirements.
  • Participate in DFMEAs, DVPs, and system-level failure mode analysis.
  • Resolve design and virtual build issues; provide manufacturing support including error-proofing (poka-yoke) strategies.
  • Use CAD tools and tolerance stack-ups to validate spatial constraints and ensure packaging feasibility.
  • Apply GD&T to ensure component fit, form, and function.
  • Manage engineering changes, track progress, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to cost-saving strategies and design enhancements for current and future vehicle platforms.



Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on safety-critical components.
  • Proven experience designing and releasing brake system components.
  • Strong 3D CAD skills (CATIA V5/V6 and 3DX preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of chassis systems and braking technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with requirements management and validation planning.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA/DVP development and root cause analysis tools.
  • Ability to manage suppliers and projects effectively.
  • Experience in engineering change management processes.
  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BEng) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
