At Advantage Technical, we're seeking a Development Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI, to be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team shaping the next generation of vehicles and world-class powertrain systems.

Pay: $42.67/hr.

Key Responsibilities



  • Design, develop, and validate automatic transmission, driveline, and gear reducer components and systems.
  • Plan and execute tests, including BOM development, test cell setup/debug, scheduling, and inspections.
  • Perform root cause analysis of failures and develop solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (hardware, software, calibration, thermal, and engine groups).
  • Lead post-test inspections and prepare detailed reports.
  • Support vehicle and dynamometer testing, including occasional travel for validation.


Qualifications



  • B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in transmission/driveline/gear reducer design, development, calibration, or controls.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to manage multiple complex projects.
  • Must be able to drive and test vehicles (track and public roads).
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering; experience in transmission design, development, and testing; knowledge of transmission efficiency, calibration, software, thermal management, and electrohydraulic systems.
