Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Operations and Systems, the Communications and Strategic Initiatives Project Manager supports the development and activation of brand, content and channel strategies spanning all areas of the branch including career engagement, student success and retention, industry partnerships, faculty engagement, and select work with our campus partners. The role will work cross-functionally with C2 Hub teams as well as Strategy, Marketing, Communications and Met Media colleagues across campus to develop communication content to strengthen student engagement and campus and community branding related to C2 Hub aligned activities. Additionally, they will serve as a liaison with University Communications and Marketing to ensure communication practices are aligned with scheduling, branding, and accessibility standards. The ability to work and operate independently with agency when necessary.

Duties/Responsibilities

50% - Strategic Communications

  • Oversee C2Hub brand strategy and serve as primary liaison between C2Hub and Strategy, Marketing, and Communications.
  • Develop communication content to strengthen C2 Hub awareness, student engagement, and campus and community branding.
  • Create an outreach strategy that will scale career development and experiential learning to work toward engaging 100% of theMSUDenver student body.
  • Oversee, manage, and create content for C2 Hub social media platforms in coordination with student staff
  • Manage internal communications for C2 Hub and campus community; Create communication strategy to support the development of the C2 Hub and appropriate information dissemination to C2 Hub staff and campus colleagues.
  • Support the development and activation of communications plans for programs and events, leveraging promising practices in communications to support scaling career development initiatives for all MSU Denver.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of C2 Hub webpages and support C2 Hub content on campus partners' pages.
  • Maintain calendar of C2Hub events, activities, and large scale communications; Support C2 Hub teams' high priority programs, activities, and events through collaborative marketing and communications strategy.
  • Coordinate with applicable strategy, marketing, communications, and web author colleagues as well as other campus partners on aligned content and channel strategy development.

30% - Programming and Operational Support

  • Participates in the development and implementation of efficient and effective systems for managing information, projects, and communications to ensure accurate and timely responses.
  • Develops and leads presentations to internal and external partners to maintain transparency of C2 Hub strategic plan, mission, and goals and to update the university community on initiative progress.
  • Support C2 Hub teams' high priority programs, activities, and events; support communications management and facilitation of signature events for C2 Hub; co-develop and maintain calendar of events and activities.
  • Fully participate in department meetings and initiatives.
  • Establish competence and knowledge of C2 Hub systems, services, programs, and resources.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise team of student employees to leverage peer-to-peer connections; Additionally, create a professional development plan specific to communications and design skill development ensuring student staff graduate with a robust portfolio of successful projects.Other duties as assigned.

20% - Data in Communications

  • Uses data and data analytics to drive communications-related decision making and applicable programmatic development throughout the C2 Hub team.
  • In partnership with the Data lead, maintains outward-facing data sharing to promote data transparency and improved communication with the University community.
  • Coordinate with Data lead in the standardization of interface design within C2Hub systems and departmental reporting efforts.
  • In collaboration with C2 Hub leadership, determine appropriate benchmarks and other indicators of success in outcomes and uses data to communicate results to the university community.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in developing and managing communication and/or branding strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience supervising a team of student or professional staff.
  • Experience with operations and systems interface development.
  • Experience in graphic design, web development and/or management, and social media.
  • Experience working at a Hispanic serving institution
  • Experience with interviewing, hiring, and managing professional and/or student staff including administering performance reviews.
  • Experience with events/programming communications development and management
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and needs in the student population.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and advocating for racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse student populations.

Schedule Information

  • Full time, 40 hours per week
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Evenings and Weekend Work: Rarely
  • Schedule: Hybrid schedule requiring in person work on our Denver, CO campus with the flexibility of some remote work opportunities (subject to supervisor approval)
  • Travel: Rarely

Salary for Announcement

Under Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.

The anticipated hiring range that the university reasonably expects to pay for this position is $41,626 - $51,500.

Position is contingent on continued funding.This position is paid monthly and is eligible for MSU Denver benefits.
