Position Summary
Direct, coordinate, and participate in the activities of a group involved in the set-up and operation of multiple and similar specialty production machine styles for the manufacture of a variety of company products. Provide developmental training for operators and oversee the quality of production within the designated area of responsibility. This individual will perform as a leader of their immediate work area.
Pay rate: $27.20
Shift Schedule: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- All skills of an A operator, refer to job description. Additionally, being proficient in performing rotary knife changes and adjustments.
- Work from production schedules, work orders, samples, special instructions, specification book, prints, and other verbal and written instructions; and use common hand tools.
- Review prior shift production, machine operation reports, and work schedules. Instruct, coordinate, and participate in activities to maintain the workflow of set-up personnel, machine operators, and other assigned department personnel to ensure the production of quality products.
- Check work, as required, and provide information or instruction as to procedure or technique for proper set-up and operation of various machines and related equipment to maintain quality standards and production requirements for all equipment under their responsibilities.
- Provide for sufficient material, machine accessory equipment, and supplies; and investigate and resolve problems, advising supervisor (TPL), Production, Quality Control, and other departments as required; and arrange for proper machine maintenance to avoid production delays and machine downtime.
- Maintain and update records to ensure that time and production information is properly recorded; and, see that material and completed work is properly handled, moved, and identified.
- See that all prescribed or standard safety rules are followed to ensure a healthy, safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned (operating a machine or filling in other areas, as needed)
Experience and Qualifications
- Ability to effectively use/read tape measure
- Ability to work from production orders, schedules, artwork, color cards, charts, procedures and instructions
- Ability to perform a wide variety of Converting operations
- Demonstrated good performance in current role
- Strong mechanical, math, and communication, leadership skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience as an A operator / set up operator required
- High school diploma or equivalent
