Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our team. This will be a 7-month remote or hybrid engagement based in Beaverton, OR. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in architecting, developing, and maintaining robust data solutions that power our core business functions. Your expertise will directly contribute to building the foundational data infrastructure that supports critical decision-making and innovation across the organization, making a tangible difference in how we leverage information. Responsibilities
- Establish and manage database management systems, defining standards, guidelines, and quality assurance protocols for all database deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive data deliverables, including conceptual design, logical database models, capacity planning, external data interface specifications, and robust data loading, maintenance, and security policies.
- Clearly document and effectively communicate intricate database designs to various stakeholders.
- Evaluate, install, and optimize diverse database management systems to meet evolving business requirements.
- Code complex programs and define logical processes on technical platforms, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Construct intuitive windows, screens, and reports that provide critical insights and enhance user experience.
- Collaborate on the design of user interfaces and business application prototypes.
- Actively participate in quality assurance processes, developing and testing application code within a client-server environment.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and defending database structures, tables, and fields.
- Translate complex business requirements into precise data and database specifications, including table and element attributes for various applications.
- Analyze existing data and storage mechanisms to determine data appropriateness and optimize storage organization.
- Define and manage intricate relationships between tables and interactions between fields within relational models.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- A minimum of 8 to 9 years of directly relevant professional experience in data engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Alternatively, the following educational and experience combinations will be considered:
- PhD or Law Degree with 6 years of experience.
- Master's Degree with 7 years of experience.
- Associate's Degree with 9 years of experience.
- High School Diploma with 10 years of experience.
- Proven expertise in establishing and maintaining database management systems, standards, and quality assurance.
- Strong proficiency in coding complex programs and deriving logical processes on technical platforms.
- Experience with conceptual design, logical database modeling, capacity planning, and data security policies.
- Ability to adapt business requirements into detailed data and database specifications.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills for database designs.
