Your Role:

The Application Scientist provides direct technical expertise of the MACS portfolio in response to direct inquiries from customers and in-house teams. The Applications Scientist works in tandem with service engineers, sales, marketing and management. This role may also represent Miltenyi Biotec at tradeshows, conduct product seminars, support product demonstrations and perform on site support where needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction and loyalty to Miltenyi products as the primary contact for assay/instrument integrations, technical support and troubleshooting of instrument and/or reagent issues.
  • Provide timely technical and application assistance in response to customer inquiries and troubleshooting for all product lines through contact with customers and sales staff for experimental design, troubleshooting, and product applications. Customer Inquiries can be received via phone, email, remote tools, web and live chat. This role is responsible for inquiries and troubleshooting from sample prep up to and including analysis of results.
  • Partner with marketing and sales to identify and work with researchers to foster new product introduction/ acceptance in the scientific community, prioritize new product potentials, and to develop product-marketing materials.
  • Work on joint technology projects, contribute to in-house product applications.
  • Assist with technical workshops, seminars and trainings to internal staff and customers.
  • Close co-operation and teamwork are required with colleagues.
  • Manage individual customer contact metrics.
  • Manage expenses.
  • Must be able to travel up to 35%.


Requirements:



  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Cell Biology, Immunology, Neuroscience, Hematology, Molecular Biology, or similar field with 2 years' experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a solid background in biological sciences, immunology, and/or molecular biology with understanding of procedures, concepts and lab experience.
  • Strong organizational skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Technical expertise in microscopy required with spatial biology and/or light sheet imaging highly desirable.


Computer Skills:



  • Ability to operate a computer with Windows operating system, Outlook email, internet, CRM databases, and basic MS Office products.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a temperature controlled, handicap-accessible facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in an office environment. This job also requires the person to be mobile to visit customer sites, vendor shows, and demonstrations. Due to the travel requirements, this position may be exposed to natural elements of nature. Used research/clinical equipment may be handled in this job and strict SOPs and PPE must be worn. All persons performing this job will receive appropriate training prior to engaging in work requiring PPE or SOP procedures.

The hiring range for this position is expected to fall between $93,100 - $100,000, reflecting the range candidates can reasonably expect to be considered for at time of offer, based on factors such as experience, internal equity, and qualifications.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of considerations, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above range represents the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.

In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions may also be eligible for additional compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
