What to Expect

The Battery Supplier Industrialization Engineering team in Tesla's Supply Chain group is seeking a Program Manager to support our growing vendor base for battery raw materials. In this role, you will drive the delivery of material qualifications with SIE and function as the key liaison between the Supply Chain organization and internal stakeholders to drive progress and remove roadblocks.

The Program Manager will be part of the Battery Supplier Industrialization team that is responsible for supplier identification, process development, qualification, and scale up for battery raw materials. In this highly visible and collaborative role, the Program Manager will work closely with the core program team to manage high value programs, applying program/project management skills to assure the timely and efficient execution of Tesla's portfolio of projects.


What You'll Do
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Tesla Qualification Process to ensure new materials are properly qualified to meet production demand and quality standards
  • Drive timely material qualifications with cross functional stakeholders to identify critical path and to meet material readiness milestones such as sample delivery, manufacturing trials, and factory bring up
  • Drive issue resolution and mitigation actions at suppliers like factory readiness delays, production bottlenecks, and supplier quality issues with the supplier industrialization engineering team
  • Communicate concisely and clearly to internal teams on risks of qualification/production, path to mitigation and status of actions
  • Translate technical problems and data to actionable plans with clear milestones and owners

What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of program management experience, preferably in battery cell NPI or manufacturing
  • Degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing executive level presentations focusing on impact, actions, and milestones
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross functional stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to establish business process issues and drive process improvement

    Expected Compensation
    $88,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
