Field Technical Service Representative

As a Field Technical Service Representative, you will conduct complaint investigations, product startup demonstrations, and applications assistance for new, existing contractors/ clients, and answer product technical questions. The Field Technical Service Representative will work independently and with internal and external teams to complete projects.

This role will report directly to Protective Coatings Technical Manager. You will work 100% remote and travel across the US and Puerto Rico.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complaint investigations -investigate product complaints using defined test protocols, document and report results.
• Product benchmarking- conduct internal and external product testing, document and report results
• Applications testing - complete hands-on application testing
• Ensure that accurate safety attitudes, procedures, site rules are adhered to on all work programs and conduct work in a manner that protects self, co-workers, the environment, and the safety of the community.
• Operate and maintain field coating inspection test equipment following established specifications with limited supervision
• Work collaboratively with cross functional partners, including pricing, customer service, marketing, credit and supply chain
• Answer product technical questions - Field technical product calls from the field organization, assist in product recommendation and competitive cross-overs

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years practical coating application in the marine or heavy industrial business segments is preferred.
• Prior experience with coating inspections.
• NACE/ AMPP/ SSPC completed courses are preferred (but not required with ample work experience).
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Basic computer literacy and proficiency with programs such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required.
