Job Details:
The School of Medicine is searching for a Standardized Patient Coordinator for the Macon, Georgia campus.

Responsibilities:

This position will work under and with the Director of the Standardized Patient Program and the Standardized Patient Program Manager to manage the development, organization, and implementation of all events that take place in the Medical Practice section of Mercer University School of Medicine. The administrative, coordination, and support responsibilities are detailed below, resulting in a smoothly functioning Standardized Patient Program as well as Clinical Skills courses.

Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and at least three years of support experience with at least one of those years working as a Standardized Patient.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Standardized Patient training materials and training protocols to efficiently and effectively work with Standardized Patients for events in Medical Practice.
  • Knowledge of basic clinical diagnostic equipment, instructional technology, and audiovisual equipment or the willingness and ability to learn about the same used for events in Medical Practice.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing, with a diverse group of people to carry out coordination and scheduling duties. Ability to coordinate with outside individuals and agencies throughout the year as necessary for events.
  • Ability to work comfortably with a variety of constituents (e.g. staff, faculty, standardized patients, students, and others).
  • Ability to learn new computer programs, including database and payroll applications.
  • Ability to assemble and organize presentation of data for analysis by educational leadership.
  • Ability to respond calmly and creatively to unexpected scheduling and educational challenges.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workloads to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain University policy and procedures.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift, move and reach Clinical Skills equipment in order to setup exam rooms and student areas with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to recruit/network for the selection and training of Standardized Patients.
  • Ability to work closely with the Director of Standardized Patient Program and the Medical Director to produce successful events.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of any and all information regarding student test scores, personnel, and/or standardized patients.
