For our state-of-the art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking aGRD Operator. Leprino Foods broke ground on the $1 billion facility in the summer of 2022. The plant will become operational in 2025 with Phase 1 and will become fully operational by 2026! The GRD operator is responsible for the safe operation of the GRD system. The GRD Operator must verify that all pallets that are being added back have been produced, dispositioned, released, and are compatible with the product being produced at the dry mixer. The GRD operator is also responsible for monitoring the addback blends to ensure that the final GRD product is good quality and there are no extraneous concerns. All other duties as assigned. Job Duties (Accountability Categories and Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities): NOTE: The job may include other "non-essential" responsibilities and duties that are not listed on this form.
- Operate and monitor the GRD system according to SOP's. Maintain all production specifications (Product temp, auger speeds, product consistency).
- Shut down equipment at the end of production and make all physical connections for CIP hook up, monitor chemical strengths and reassemble equipment for production.
- Monitor and verify that the correct blend percentage (if blending) is being maintained to ensure a high quality final GRD product. Verify that all pallets are produced, dispositioned, released, and compatible with the product being produced at the dry mixer.
- Troubleshoot all equipment and identify potential problems. Communicate problems to the department team lead, supervisor, and/or manager.
- Complete Start Up / Shut Down check lists, operational inspections, Sanitation/CIP - Record CIP Titrations
- The GRD operator is responsible for the safe operation of the associated equipment and/or processes, the quality of incoming raw materials, the quality of the outgoing products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safe work practices. This position is also responsible for participating in and implementing continuous improvement.
- The GRD operator must be able to communicate effectively in relaying information to team members, team leads, supervisors, and managers as applicable. The GRD Operator must be able to communicate effectively in relaying analysis information to management personnel.
- The GRD Operator must be able to understand the requirements of the position and successfully demonstrate proficiency in the job specific PSOP Job Certification.
- Complete assigned inpscetion program duties.
- This position is responsible and accountable to ensure product meets food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan, and company policies.
- Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Know and understand the normal operational readings for all data recorded. Take action to correct problems should operations fall outside of normal process.
- Properly clean and sanitize all equipment following good manufacturing practices as required by company procedures, maintain housekeeping in area and completing eMSS daily.
- Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be 18 years old
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend basic English language
- Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary
- Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs
- Basic math skills to be able to perform mathematical functions
- Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures
- Ability to maintain clean work area according to good manufacturing processes
- Good communication skills to communicate with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts
Preferred Qualifications & Experience: Experience machine operation and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment and experience with HMIs are preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities/Competencies:

Physical/Mental Requirements and Work Environment:
- The GRD Operator must have the ability to: perform essential job functions which may include lifting up to 45 lbs; access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs; evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary; wear required personal protective equipment; work in hot, humid, and cold areas; comply with all applicable safety practices; complete written reports; perform basic mathematical calculations; enter data into and pull data from computer systems.
- The Greeley plant is a 24 hour; 7 day a week operation which requires the GRD Operator to work 12 hour shifts to include days, nights, and weekends. The GRD Operator must be able to meet these shift requirements.
- This position requires the incumbent to work on site at the facility to be able to perform the associated job responsibilities.
Additional: The GRD Operator must be able to work overtime and holidays when required.
