Altaflex, a division of OSI Electronics, is seeking a Shipping and Driving Clerk to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating company vehicles to transport goods and materials between locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, and supporting the overall shipping and receiving process. This role requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service. The shift hours will be 12pm to 8:30pm (PST).


Responsibilities

  • Prepare shipments with the required paperwork (electrical certification, CoC).
  • Prepare shipments by verifying contents, packaging items securely, and creating accurate shipping labels and documents.
  • Safely operate company vehicles to deliver goods and materials to customers, vendors, or between company locations. (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS)
  • Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment and techniques to prevent damage and injury.
  • Pick up packages, parts, or catering as needed.
  • Obtain signatures and delivery confirmations, maintain accurate records of deliveries, and report any discrepancies.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to customers and vendors during deliveries and pickups.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and local laws/regulations regarding transportation and shipping.
  • Scan Altaflex documents such as travelers or certifications.
  • Organize and label customer stock parts.
  • Communicate with the Project Manager regarding specific jobs and logistics.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager on the daily SMT production schedule and shipment details.

  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
* Experience operating delivery vehicles such as vans, trucks, or box trucks preferred.
* Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and stand for extended periods.
* Basic understanding of shipping and receiving procedures.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Familiarity with GPS, routing apps, and basic computer skills (for shipping documentation).
* May require early morning, evening, or weekend hours depending on delivery schedules.
* Work is performed both indoors (warehouse/shipping area) and outdoors (during deliveries).
* Exposure to varying weather conditions while loading/unloading and delivering goods.
* Frequent lifting, bending, and carrying of packages and materials.
* Ability to operate a vehicle for extended periods of time.
* Standing and walking for long periods during shipping and delivery tasks.
