Job Summary


The Psychologist II position is within the Stress and Health Research Program (SHRP), a clinical research program affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral. The incumbent will provide Brief Behavior Therapy for Insomnia to research participants enrolled in a pilot study of insomnia treatment to patients (N= 20) who have experienced a recent traumatic event and received treatment in a consortium of Emergency Departments organized by the University of North Carolina (UNC). The pilot study is a collaborative project between UCSF and UNC and funded by the Heart and Armor Foundation.
Essential Functions:
* Provide manualized weekly BBT-I therapy for 4 weeks.
* Instruct participants in the self-administration of questionnaires and sleep diary.
* Attend weekly clinical supervision and staff meetings
* Log progress notes and research data
* Perform other duties as assigned

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $49.10 - $88.64 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

Required Qualifications

* Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree in clinical psychology and one year of post-doctoral experience in clinical psychology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position.
* Excellent clinical skills: experience working with individuals experiencing trauma or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and documenting encounters in clinical notes.
* Excellent communication skills for working with patients, clinic staff, and research staff.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with patients.
* Experience collaborating with academic partners.
