Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Operations Business Systems, the Business Analyst Intern will partner with business stakeholders and IT to translate requirements into Power BI reports, improve data quality/cataloging. You'll gain handson experience across requirements, modeling, visualization, governance, and change management within a manufacturing/operations context.
Essential Functions:
- Requirements & analysis: Facilitate intake sessions; capture user stories and success metrics; translate into lightweight specs and mockups.
- BI development: Build/iterate Power BI models and reports; apply visualization best practices; publish to workspaces following team standards.
- Data quality & governance: Contribute data design and development, and improvement; perform data validation and reconcile to source; help operationalize stewardship workflows.
- Documentation: Create SOPs, definitions, and howto guides; support process mapping for analytics use cases and broader ERP processes.
- Stakeholder enablement: Prepare demos, measure adoption, and incorporate feedback; support poweruser community sessions.
- Ad hoc analysis: Explore datasets to identify trends/opportunities; build oneoff analyses that can be productionalized.
Success in this role will require:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program (undergrad or grad) in Information Systems, Data/Business Analytics, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Comfortable with Excel and basic analytics; strong written & verbal communication; curiosity and problemsolving mindset
- Eligibility to work the hours defined for interns per company policy.
- Exposure to Power BI (DAX, modeling), SQL, or Python/R for analysis.
- Interest/experience with data tools (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Purview, PowerBI) and governance concepts.
- Familiarity with manufacturing and/or ERP data structures.
