About the role:

At Boston Scientific, our products andtechnologiesare used to diagnose or treat a wide range of medical conditions. We continue to innovate in key areas and are extending our innovations into new geographies and high-growth adjacency markets. In Cardiac Rhythm Management and Diagnostics (CRMDx) and AF Solutions, we offer solutions for treating irregular heart rhythms and heart failure and protecting against sudden cardiac arrest. The RCM is responsible for managing a regional team of Field Clinical Engineers and Field Clinical Specialists (FCS's) and their clinical trial activities to ensure effective and efficient day-to-day execution of Boston Scientific clinical trials according to protocol requirements, world-wide regulatory body compliance guidelines, and corporate and departmental objectives. The RCM can be a direct line manager of the Field Clinical Engineers and a dotted line manager to the Field Clinical Specialists.

Key responsibilities:



  • Responsible and accountable for establishing and achieving departmental goals for each clinical trial by ensuring his/her FCEs and FCSs have the knowledge, tools, and training to execute each clinical trial, by assisting his/her FCEs and FCSs at their centers, and by interacting with internal and external customers, as needed, to attain the execution goals of the study.
  • Trains and develops FCEs and FCSs within his/her region.
  • Leverages cross-functional resources, expertise, and knowledge across multiple functions to ensure attainment of project objectives.
  • Provides input into the development of global clinical trial strategies.
  • Reviews and provides input into clinical protocol development especially as it relates to the feasibility of collecting critical endpoint data for the final endpoint analysis.
  • Provides oversight of individual clinical trials to ensure that safety concerns and/or adverse events are identified and reported. Provides input to the Safety organization for the Clinical Events Committee(s).
  • Knows and communicates center capabilities, including center start processes involving IRB and contract approvals, clinical trial enrollment potential, and center research infrastructure including the engagement of the Principal Investigator.
  • Provides support of investigational product inventory shipping, returns and reconciliation as requested.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and coaching of others in the appropriate application of clinical research conduct, laws, regulations, standards, and compliance with applicable BSC SOPs and policies.



What we're looking for:

Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the clinical trial process
  • Ability to manage and execute clinical trials
  • Ability to lead a team of people and work with other managers within the organization
  • Must possess knowledge of and understand the Federal Regulations for Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Strong customer relationship building skills required
  • Ability to travel 50-75%

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
