Job Purpose:
The Working Service Manager is a critical, dual-role position responsible for both managing the day-to-day operations of the shop and actively participating in upfitting and fabrication tasks. The ideal candidate will be a leader who can manage a team, ensure quality work, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction while contributing directly to the production process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Honor Commitments:
- Ensure all projects meet deadlines and delivery times are met as promised.
- Manage and coordinate all personnel, including scheduling, performance, and training, to ensure commitments are met.
- Manage administrative tasks such as payroll, managing time off requests, and other management-related duties.
- Generate accurate quotes and invoices for all jobs, ensuring financial promises are honored.
Create Positive Experiences:
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring projects are completed correctly and on time.
- Communicate with clients regarding project status, timelines, and any issues, providing clear and proactive updates.
- Provide quality control inspections on all completed work to ensure the highest standards are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to keep projects on track.
Foster Life-long Learning:
- Manage and coordinate training for all personnel, promoting continuous skill development.
- Encourage the team to stay informed about new upfitting equipment, accessories, and techniques.
- Contribute to the refinement of shop processes, applying lessons learned from past projects.
Exhibit a Pioneering Spirit:
- Perform and oversee installations of upfitting equipment, accessories, and custom parts, embracing new technologies and techniques.
- Conduct welding, fabricating, and other support tasks, adapting skills as needed to meet unique project demands.
- Actively seek out and implement improvements to the workflow.
Demonstrate Good Stewardship:
- Oversee the entire workflow of the shop, from project intake to final delivery.
- Maintain accurate quotes and invoices for all jobs, responsibly managing the company's finances.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Complete projects on time to ensure the efficient use of the shop's resources.
Other Duties as Assigned:
- Adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and undertake additional responsibilities as required, reflecting our commitment to flexibility and responsiveness in meeting business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, additional trade school training preferred.
- Five (5) years of related experience in truck service operations.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an automotive, fabrication, or upfitting environment.
- Strong technical skills with hands-on experience in welding, fabrication, and vehicle installation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in creating quotes and invoices.
- Ability to manage a team effectively, handle personnel issues, and motivate staff.
- A strong commitment to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
- A valid driver's license with a 3 year history required; CDL or ability to obtain preferred.
