Job Overview: The Senior Automation Engineer, will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining automation systems to optimize operations and enhance productivity. This position will work with cross-functional teams to create robust, scalable, and reliable automation solutions for manufacturing processes, software applications, or business workflows. As a senior engineer, you will provide leadership, mentoring to junior engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders to improve existing systems and ensure successful implementation of automation technologies. People who thrive in a fast-paced environment and will stop at nothing to ensure a project is complete and meets regulations and expectations. * Strong leader and problem-solver Key Responsibilities: * Develop and implement improvements to existing automation in mechanical assembly, machining and inspection processes * Design and Develop Automation Systems : Lead design, specify, and build assembly and test equipment for production cells ranging from semi-automated to fully automated focusing on efficiency, scalability, and reliability. * Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts for software applications or system processes to ensure quality and performance standards are met. * Process Optimization: Analyze and automate repetitive processes, identifying opportunities for optimization across the development, production, or operational environments * Develop and implement maintenance programs for equipment * Manage equipment purchase and installation * Prepare manufacturing documentation (Specifications, Technical drawings) * Lead the following project tasks: o Project Kickoff o System Design / Procurement o Programming / Configuration o FAT o SAT / Commissioning o Close-out Documentation o Manage time and expenses within the allotted project budget. * Coordinate with external 3rd party automation integrators, machine shops, and component suppliers to provide quality deliverables * Evaluate new device designs for manufacturability (DFA) * Develop systems and layouts that follow lean manufacturing philosophies of one piece flow and kanban, with emphasis on mistake proofing. * Mentorship and Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior automation engineers, guiding them through best practices, troubleshooting, and development methodologies..
