Hitachi Energy is hiring an Electrical Design Engineer through the Power2 Engineering Development Program. This 24-month training initiative offers a comprehensive learning experience that includes technical trainings, peer mentoring, and hands-on training. The role will be based in either Alamo, TN or Raleigh, NC. As part of the program, you'll gain end-to-end expertise in Transformer Bushings design, supporting the manufacturing operations at our Alamo, TN facility. This role will be located at Alamo, TN or Raleigh, NC location. You will be given an opportunity of learning the Engineering Product design skills and process end to end, with the goal of supporting the products manufactured at Alamo, TN factory. This program aims to build your career in engineering, which will provide unique opportunities to gain expertise in several areas of Engineering, including Electrical Mechanical design, Marketing, Supply Chain and Manufacturing. Your Responsibilities:
Learn the Transformer Bushing design engineering and perform tasks involving design, development, test, installation, and service while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, Bill of Materials, and other pertinent information. Prepare engineering related documents according to requirements, established formats, and general instructions. You will be coached by a mentor to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application and recommend revisions as appropriate. Support in Investigating technical problems and establish procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences. Main activities are engineering response to customer focus and commercial orders, product care, and operational troubleshooting. Additionally you will be involved in preparing drawings/specifications, material and design selection, quotations, and obtaining required approvals. Using state-of-the-art CAD, develop 2-D and 3-D models of components and assemblies for prototype, production, and retrofit builds as required. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product design and performance. Your Background:
Bachelor's degree in electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical engineering or related field and 2 years of experience; (considering internships and co-ops as well). Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States. Preferred Qualifications: Good knowledge with Pro-E or any 3D CAD modeling software. Windchill data management or any PLM software will be plus. Interest in the energy and/or manufacturing sectors Self-starter that seeks knowledge outside of the classroom Willingness to stay and work from Alamo, TN; and/or Raleigh, NC - relocation assistance is provided. Willing to travel for training in the factory environment (may include overseas training) - travel assistance is provided.
