Job Summary The Senior Director, Channel Distribution & Strategic Development resides within the Market Access Team and leads a team responsible for the overall US channel and trade strategies for the US Biopharma portfolio. This key leader will manage a team responsible for day-to-day business transactions, issues, and problems across all products within the portfolio. They will set strategic direction for a team responsible for identifying, evaluating, analyzing and recommending strategic channel approaches. This leader, along with their team, will work closely with Payer Marketing & Strategy, patient and provider services, sales and marketing to optimize access to Fresenius Kabi's specialty products with customers. The Senior Director must be goal-oriented, know how to set aggressive, but achievable targets, mentor and develop the accounts teams, motivate cross-functional teams as well as business partners.

Salary Range: $210,000 - $230,000 per year
Position is eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 22% of the base salary. Position is also eligible to participate in our medium-term incentive plan. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.   • Oversee strategic approach and development/negotiation of key distribution agreements with wholesalers, distributors, specialty pharmacies, and other relevant channel partners.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships and contractual agreements with channel partners.
  • Maintain agreed upon service levels with distribution partners and conduct periodic business reviews.
  • Lead strategic and tactical planning for all channel activities.
  • Develop effective distribution models and strategy for all biopharma products.
  • Support development of future innovative Specialty Channel strategies and enhancements to support business needs.
  • Manage KPIs/CRM and reporting dashboard to track critical distribution metrics for launch and beyond.
  • Ensure wholesaler, specialty distributor and inventory levels provide consistent product availability.
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners to identify opportunities to save and establish best practices to make tangible improvements to P&L.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Direct daily activities and development of staff - including Develop and maintain a channel distribution management team.

a. Assessment of FTE's required target account lists and assignments.

b. Hiring, training, coaching, performance assessment, and IC plan development for teams.

c. Establishment of field operations needs for CRM documentation, contract utilization, and inventory levels.

  • Conduct analytic reviews of contract agreement to ensure expected performance and utilization with Payer team for formulary status and sales for pull-through.
  • Provide consolidated feedback from Specialty customers to internal leadership to inform and evolve pricing, contracting, and marketing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures as well as US healthcare laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
  • 2+ years relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biopharma Industries required.
  • 6+ years relevant experience in Channel, Trade and Distribution/Specialty Pharmacy required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of management experience required.
  • Knowledge of Market Access/Managed Care and impact on product access.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the specialty pharmacy landscape, role that specialty pharmacy play, and their interaction with payers.
  • Experience with biological therapies and/or biopharma is highly desired.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, and executive presence skills.
  • Strong team player that has customer service approach and is solution oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate matrix organizations to ensure interdepartmental input and buy-in.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships both within a multi-disciplinary Fresenius Kabi team as well as with external vendors and partners including specialty pharmacies.
  • Ability to influence without authority, challenge others and hold them accountable.
  • Ability to plan and organize work for multiple programs and associated initiatives simultaneously to ensure timelines are achieved.
  • Sound Microsoft Office Suite skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to implement creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time domestically.
