Job Description: A Managed Services Service Segment Manager will bring experience in collaborating with global teams to develop and implement innovative services solutions. The role requires services industry and HPE knowledge, cross-functional leadership, effective communication, and a whole solution attitude to enable new offers encompassing both technology and services components in a single outcome for the customer. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing and being the primary point of ownership for the introduction and end-to-end product lifecycle of new Managed Services (MS) offers and capabilities to support various HPE and HPE GreenLake products and services. These enable HPE to position a cloud-like experience - whereby technology solution and platforms are provided as managed services that customers can use to deploy their required functionality for running their IT workloads on.
- You will manage complex MS (managed services) introductions following and contributing to the further development of - defined processes, governance, and best practices.
- Service introductions are typically of two distinct types. You will lead the MS activities supporting:
- New HPE GreenLake as-a-service service introduction projects. HPE GreenLake service introductions can range from the introduction of a new technology to the HPE GreenLake family to strategic development of end-to-end solutions encompassing HPE and 3rd party products and services, where MS plays a critical and major role in providing the managed for you attribute of the service being developed. Representing MS within these strategic HPE GreenLake service introductions, you will work with the broader core team to ensure the MS component of the service is properly defined, incorporated into the service and associated business processes, and that the delivery organisation is ready to deliver.
- New HPE or HPE partner product introductions. Working with other services stakeholders, you will ensure that managed services and business processes are defined with corresponding service definition, delivery readiness and sales awareness, and that managed services is ready to support new HPE products or HPE partner products upon launch. Depending on requirements, this will scale from a establishing a minimum viable service capability through to developing a fully-blown MS service for the product in question.
- Within both categories, you will lead a cross-functional team to develop and enable the MS (managed services) service. This encompasses:
- Managing the activities of supporting project teams and internal partners; ensuring progress against established plans and making decisions based on the available information to alter or update schedules and resources meet product requirements and development schedule.
- Service definition ensuring the MS service is properly scoped and defined to deliver the required customer outcome.
- Delivery readiness working with delivery readiness leads to ensure the right people, processes and tools are in place and prepared to deliver against the service definition.
- Pricing and business process alignment working with GL and MS pricing and process leads to ensure that MS costs and prices are properly accounted for, and that order booking processes include MS services in a compliant manner.
- Materials and documentation leading or contributing to the development of documents such as datasheet, Statement of Work, sales presentations, etc. that are required to position and transact the service with customers.
- Sales awareness contributing to sales and marketing activities to drive awareness and traction of the new service within HPE sales teams.
- Ongoing lifecycle management through the life of the service you will retain product management ownership of the service, answering any questions as they arise, dealing with any changes of requirements or circumstances, ensuring the service continues to meet customer expectations.
- Gather program lessons learned, feeding back into the teams & processes for future improvements.
- You will also drive specific initiatives to implement and improve MS (managed services) products or product management processes and practices, or address particular questions or issues as they arise. These projects are difficult to anticipate in terms of frequency, time required and subject matter, but are usually important in nature and of a high priority.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years experience in IT / managed services project management.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix international structure.
- Working in a global role across multiple geographic and cultural boundaries. This will entail an element of working outside of normal business hours.
- Ability to effectively communicate with and present to all levels of the Managed Services and HPE GreenLake organizations.
- Create and form cross organizational interlocks for roadmap and solution-level planning and development.
- Managed Services and/or GreenLake ecosystem understanding and experience products and customer requirements, sales processes, dependencies, internal and external partners, business processes, etc. both technically and organizationally.
- Comfortable hosting program teams calls, update materials, share meeting minutes, track open actions through completion & be operationally effective.
- Strengthen team relationships through collaboration, influence, and negotiation.
- Be able to operate and lead through ambiguity and change, and accommodate competing priorities on a daily basis.
- Proactively identify issues and solutions, and marshal resources necessary to resolve.
- Ability to summarize abstract ideas clearly and independently manage project objectives.
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence; mastery in English and local language.
- Ability to learn, develop and draw on new techniques to implement creative approaches to meeting project objectives.
