Job Summary Manage the development and execution of critical capital engineering projects related to plant operations and expansions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Oversee the design and review of equipment and systems using corporate standards. * Interface with engineers to define project scope requirements and incorporate corporate standards. * Evaluate new process technologies to improve existing systems and resolve process and safety problems. * Work with finance, production, and safety to develop justifications for capital projects and prepare the Requests for Expenditure Authorization (REAs) in a timely and accurate fashion. * Acquire and negotiate project contractor bids in conjunction with procurement. * Prepare project specifications and/or tender documents. * Manage release of design input to suppliers (contractors, component suppliers, etc.). * Perform supplier site visits to ensure compatibility of equipment designs with current plant configurations. * Produce site visit reports, contractor job meeting minutes, project material listings, purchase orders, installation schedules and preparation of any other documentation relating to installation of systems. * Assist in the development of new installation techniques and standards. * Manage capital projects meeting deadlines and budgets. Identify and effectively utilize project resources. * Manage the resolution of technical issues identified by suppliers. * Manage technical documents provided by suppliers. * Provide technical assistance to processing facilities, to improve quality and efficiency. Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's degree in engineering (ME/EE/IE/ChE) or related field, or equivalent related experience. - 3+ years of project management experience, preferably directly related to food processing. - Familiarity with processing techniques. - Experienced in the development and maintenance of plant system documents, process flow sheets, block diagrams, schedules and spend tracking. - Experience using AutoCAD. Skills - Proficient word processing and spreadsheet skills. - Proficient AutoCAD and Microsoft Project skills. - Engineering Knowledge - Problem solving and Troubleshooting - Electrical Codes - Allen Bradley PLC and process controls - USDA Machinery and Construction - Interpersonal Skills - Presentations - Understanding and implementation of Ladder Logic programming for PLC's - Experience with Microsoft Windows NT and domain networking environments - Ability to implement new software packages. - Problem Solving techniques - PLC5 family of PLCs - SL500 family of PLCs - Familiarity with RSLogix software - Device Net - ControLogix - ControlNet - Competency with Wonderware software - Working knowledge of industrial electricity - 480 VAC, 3O control system - Motors, valves, low voltage DC devices and sensors - Ability to work with and understand electrical control schematic diagrams, power system 1-line diagrams - Ability to use MSWord, Excel and Access to provide documentation support - Process descriptions on project installation documents, tagname assignments, etc. - Ability to specify, procure, assist with installation, debug and start-up of electrical control and power system equipment - Working knowledge of Ethernet LAN system components and their functional usage #LI-TG1 It is our business imperative to remain a very inclusive workplace.
