DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Health Care Surveyor, you will conduct inspections of nursing homes to evaluate the quality of care and services, determine eligibility for licensure, and verify certification for federal long-term care programs. You will coordinate off-site preparation and on-site inspections of nursing homes, conduct entrance and exit conferences with facility staff, and respond to complaints relative to quality of care and quality of life services provided to residents. This role requires the ability to monitor facilities for noncompliance with state and federal regulations, while ensuring compliance has been achieved and sustained. In addition, you will participate in litigation and serve as a witness at hearings, record and track information, and respect confidential information. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Irregular Work Hours: You will be required to carry a cell phone and respond to complaints during off-hours.
- Travel: Frequent travel within Berks, Bucks, Lebanon, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, and Schuylkill counties; travel to other parts of the Commonwealth; and overnight travel is required.
- Home Headquartered: This position is home headquartered. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in audiology, communication sciences and disorders (CSD), cognitive disabilities, gerontology, health administration, nutrition, dietetics, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, psychology, public health, recreational therapies, respiratory therapy, speech-language pathology, social work, nursing home administration, or vocational rehabilitation; and one year of related professional experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of related professional experience.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires successful completion of the relevant provider-specific federally mandated Surveyor Minimum Qualifications training and Test (SMQT) provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services or an equivalent certifying body for the discipline, within one year of hire.
- You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.
