We are seeking a Technical Engineer to join our team. This Position is responsible for leading or providing project management leadership for various projects related to successfully executing our technology & engineering strategies including new product developments, process developments, equipment developments, material developments, optimization projects, etc. for all our industrial converting divisions. The person in this position will provide project management leadership to help the Global Technology & Engineering organization execute projects in a timely and effective fashion. This person will also lead projects as appropriate. Projects will be varied as described above and will be in support of all our converting divisions What you will do: Provides project management leadership for Global Converting Technology & Engineering Project management and/or project oversight for such initiatives as product developments/improvements, process developments/improvements, equipment developments/improvements, materials developments/improvements and various projects related to technical innovations and technical leadership Projects will also focus on the successful and timely commercialization of technologies Provide Technical Training for operations, quality, commercial and other technical personnel Demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization Must work well with all teams and functions to accomplish our objectives Qualifications: Project Management Leadership for self and others Travel as required How to improve our project management process & effectiveness Time management Competitive strategy Expense management Technology & Innovation ideas Technical Support & training. Responsible for ensuring projects are progressing per plan. Provides industry's best technical support for both our internal & external customers. Supports Divisional growth and productivity initiatives. Suggests remedies for problems under pressure of time and works in different and simultaneous assignments. Seeks and promotes new uses for our products as well as new uses for existing product line. Seeks to identify new product development/product enhancement opportunities. Travels as necessary to accomplish objectives Promotes company goodwill and maintains proper relationships with customers and prospective customers. Plans and supervises work of others as appropriate. Maintains and expands knowledge of equipment, processes, systems, and materials used in our industry. Protects assets, confidential and restricted information, developments, specifications, materials, legal obligations, and other such data in contacts with both internal personnel and especially with competitors, vendors, and other external parties. Works independently as needed to initiate, conduct, and implement technical work to respond to internal and external customers in absence of supervision. Performs other similar and related duties as assigned Works safely and follows all applicable safety rules Complies with all company policies Requirements: 4 year engineering degree required (Mechanical Engineering) Experience in paper related industries is a plus Project Management experience Experience using MS Project/Planner PMP Certification is a plus Knowledge of programs such as Solidworks, Inventor, etc. is a plus.
