 | Overview
 
 SES is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team supporting DoD aviation programs tied to the Prototype Integration Facility. The successful candidate will manage technical staff, oversee project execution, and provide technical leadership in both engineering and proposal development. This position is based at the SES facility on Dunlop Blvd and will involve close collaboration with PIF stakeholders and other DoD customers.Responsibilities
 
 
     Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians in support of Army aviation integration and prototyping programs Provide technical direction, mentoring, and professional development for engineering staffEnsure Airworthiness compliance, including development and verification of System Requirements Documents (SRDs) to support qualification and certificationOversee system design, integration, testing, and airworthiness compliance for aviation platforms and subsystemsEnsure engineering deliverables meet cost, schedule, and performance goals in coordination with program managers and government stakeholdersManage engineering resources across multiple projects within the PIFConduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and interface with customers during design and program reviewsSupport proposal development:
      Lead or contribute to technical solutioning and architecture design for RFP responsesDevelop engineering cost estimates, staffing plans, and schedulesWrite and review technical volumes, ensuring compliance with solicitation requirementsPresent engineering approaches to capture managers, executives, during bid reviews Enforce adherence to DoD/Army engineering processes, quality standards, and configuration management practicesQualifications
 
 
     Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); Master's degree preferred16+ years of progressive engineering experience in Army aviation or DoD programs, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management roleStrong knowledge of Army aviation platforms, avionics, and mission equipment integrationDemonstrated experience managing engineering teams supporting rapid prototyping and fielding effortsProven ability to balance technical leadership with programmatic constraints (cost/schedule/risk)Hands-on experience contributing to DoD proposals, including technical volume writing and cost estimationActive DoD Secret clearance (must be U.S. Citizen)Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Desired Skills 
     Prior experience working within or directly supporting the Prototype Integration Facility (PIF)Familiarity with Army PEO Aviation programs and Redstone Arsenal stakeholdersExperience with Army airworthiness and qualification processesHands-on experience with integration labs, flight test, and sustainment engineeringCapture/proposal leadership experience, including participation in color team reviews (Pink, Red, Gold)PMP or DAWIA certification a plus |
