Position Summary: The Vice President, Communications and Public Relations will serve as the strategic architect of SIG SAUER's external and internal communications strategy, ensuring a cohesive and consistent brand narrative across all global markets. This highly visible leadership role is responsible for shaping the public narrative, protecting, and enhancing corporate reputation, and leading all media relations, public affairs, and crisis communications efforts worldwide. The ideal candidate is a proactive, experienced communications leader with deep expertise in reputation management, corporate positioning, and storytelling, especially within high-profile, regulated industries. This individual has a proven track record of managing complex communications strategies that align diverse product lines and regional teams under a unified global strategy.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global communications and public relations strategy aligned with corporate objectives and brand positioning across all markets.
  • Serve as the chief spokesperson and media strategist for SIG SAUER, managing all press interactions, interviews, and public statements.
  • Lead all external communications initiatives including earned media, thought leadership, product launches, and corporate announcements.
  • Partner with government affairs, legal, and executive leadership on sensitive or high-stakes communications, including crisis and issues management.
  • Direct internal communications to ensure employee alignment, engagement, and advocacy.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong media relationships across national, regional, trade, and industry press.
  • Manage agency partners, PR budgets, and campaign metrics to maximize visibility and impact.
  • Oversee speechwriting, executive visibility, corporate social responsibility, and community engagement messaging.
  • Monitor and respond to media coverage, public sentiment, and industry developments.
  • Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
  • Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.



Education/Experience & Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications preferred.
  • 15+ years of senior-level experience in corporate communications, public relations, or media strategy within defense, manufacturing, sporting goods, or other highly visible and regulated industries. Candidates with a military background should also have some private sector experience to demonstrate adaptability to corporate environments.
  • Exceptional writing, messaging, and storytelling skills across diverse formats and platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting global or multinational companies with brand management, communication strategy, and consistent messaging across diverse regions and cultures.
  • Proven crisis management and media relations expertise with comfort in high-pressure environments.
  • Extensive experience in public speaking and addressing media and other public-facing audiences with clarity and confidence.
  • Deep understanding of public policy, government relations, and the defense/media landscape.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.



Working Conditions:



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
