Job Description

Position Summary:

Selected candidates for a Material Handler/Drive position will be expected to perform under minimal supervision, have the ability to become forklift certified, and may be required to lift up to 35 lbs. Forklift duties may include loading/unloading semi-trucks, stocking raw materials, moving material to and from machines/operations. Other duties include picking and kitting materials and supporting inventory audits. In order to maintain inventory and traceability, material lot information and transaction accuracy in the relevant MRP system, basic computer skills and knowledge of inventory processes may be required. Driving a company truck or automobile over established routes to deliver and pickup supplies and products, collect payment checks and invoices from customers, and ensure complete accuracy of signed paperwork and goods delivered. Drivers will be responsible for the proper loading and securing of all deliverables in trucks guaranteeing safe delivery of customer product and provide customer service by loading and unloading delivery vehicles with the use of forklifts and mechanical pallet jacks.

Candidates must be self-disciplined and self-motivated individuals with strong accountability (attention to details) skills and must adhere to all organization (and customer's organization) safety rules and regulations. You must have an acceptable motor vehicle record and working knowledge of any applicable DOT regulations and WA State traffic laws.

Reports to the Material Handling Operations Manager

Schedule:

Weekend Days: Friday-Sunday, 6am-6:30pm. Work 36 hours, get paid for 40!

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining regular and punctual attendance according to shift-times or a pre-arranged work schedule.
  • Support audits, lean, and quality initiatives as required
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Wear and maintain proper personal equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure that all products are loaded properly in trucks so that it will ensure the arrival undamaged.
  • Drives truck to deliver products to customer's place of business.
  • Load and unload vehicles, unassisted or with assistance of helpers, with or without forklifts.
  • Lifts, pulls, pushes and carries goods and other freight of varying weights over long distance, rough terrain or stairs.
  • Ensure proper scanning of jobs and obtain signatures via the shipping proof of delivery app.
  • Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
  • Match certifications/travelers to the respective job and ensures accuracy between certifications/travelers and the respective job before scanning the job to the customer.
  • Maintain basic shipping paperwork, checking for accuracy and detail, and making sure that the customer has signed the dated certifications and that all delivered jobs have respective paperwork.
  • Collect checks/moneys from customers, if applicable.
  • Assists receiving department in the transportation and storage of received material and customer products or containment.
  • Operates pallet jacks and forklifts using a high degree of caution for self, others and products.
  • Drives safely and defensively, obeying the rules of the road.
  • May be assigned special projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language.

  • Excellent vision (whether or not corrected) including normal color vision.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance, and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

  • Familiar with computerized MRP/inventory systems
  • Understand and adhere to proper material storage requirements
  • Understand basic company manufacturing process and how inventory control interacts with upstream and downstream functions
  • Good computer skills and ability to query, monitor, and input MRP system data
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Must be detail oriented and quick learner
  • Organization skills

Required Experience:

  • Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record and working knowledge of any applicable DOT regulations and WA State traffic laws

Level of Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • General Standard education including the ability to read and write in English.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $20 to $25 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
