Angel Tree Coordinator

**This is a Temporary Christmas position from October 27, 2025 - December 31, 2025, pay starting at $15/hr** Monday - Friday 9AM - 4PM**

MISSION STATEMENT: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. SUMMARY: Assist in the coordination of collecting and sorting toy donations for The Salvation Army's toy distribution program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other similar and related duties may be assigned. Part time schedule, but later in November hours will increase not to exceed 40 hours per week. Some Saturdays will be required.

OFFICE MANAGEMENT



  1. Respond to inquiries regarding the Angel Tree program and provide information on how individuals, families, businesses and schools can provide toy donations.
  2. Order boxes for toy collection and prepare them for delivery to participating business sites.
  3. Contact local area businesses to schedule drop off of collection boxes and pick up of toy donations.
  4. Send information packets and tags to businesses sponsoring Angel Tree.
  5. Order Boxes for toy collection and prepare them for initial delivery to business sites.
  6. Assist with the delivery of collection boxes and toy pick-ups when needed.
  7. Help ensure the success of the Angel Tree program through all aspects of position.



AREA MALL RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Set up Christmas Trees and hang tags near the Salvation Army Donation houses.
  2. Monitor houses and trees periodically to replace tags and remove toys.


3 Ensure pick up of toys from the mall houses at least once per week, more often later in the season.



  1. Promptly respond to inquiries or concerns from the malls



QUALITY CONTROL



  1. Record on provided accounting sheets the number of toys collected and approximate dollar amount of toy values.
  2. Ensure all staff maintain a professional and courteous manner with the public and other staff.
  3. Provide direct assistance in the collection and sorting of donated toys.
  4. Regularly review progress of project and make adjustments in process and staffing pattern to ensure smooth operation.
  5. Provide regular updates on progress to supervisor



LEADERSHIP



  1. Ensure the pickup and sorting of donations in a timely manner.
  2. Provide training and instruction to sorters and drivers regarding program expectations.
  3. Provide feedback to staff to ensure performance matches program expectations.
  4. Create schedule and inform staff in a timely manner of changes.



QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) required. Experience in leadership role, preferably in paid position as supervisor

COMPUTER/DATA ENTRY SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
