Description

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Material Planner to support material planning, inventory control, and production scheduling within SAP environments. This role supports and maintains SAP systems that drive supply chain, procurement, and production planning operations. This role ensures the accuracy, security, and performance of SAP modules such as MM (Materials Management), PP (Production Planning), and WM (Warehouse Management). The ideal candidate understands material planning workflows, supports system configuration, manages master data integrity, and collaborates across planning, logistics, and IT teams to optimize SAP-driven processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support SAP modules related to Material Planning, including MM, PP, and WM.
  • Ensure master data accuracy for materials, BOMs, work centers, routings, and vendors to support planning and procurement activities.
  • Accurate SAP input associated with Government Accountable Property inventory
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SAP system issues impacting material availability, MRP runs, or inventory movement.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, and IT teams to support planning workflows and process improvements.
  • Generate and validate reports related to material status, shortages, lead times, and demand/supply alignment.
  • Support configuration and maintenance of planning parameters (e.g., lot sizes, reorder points, safety stock).
  • Ensure SAP transactions and planning processes align with company policies and compliance standards.
  • Assist with SAP testing, upgrades, and enhancements related to planning modules or integrations.
  • Train users on planning-related SAP transactions, tools, and reporting features.

Basic Qualifications

  • TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, contract management, or a related field.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in supplier contract administration, procurement, or supply chain governance (or 2-6 years with a Master's degree).
  • Solid understanding of material requirements planning (MRP) and supply chain processes.
  • Experience maintaining SAP master data for materials, vendors, and planning parameters.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy.
  • Ability to troubleshoot transactional errors and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in SAP reporting tools and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or advanced planning tools such as SAP APO or IBP.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, procurement, and production operations.
  • Familiarity with demand forecasting, capacity planning, and lead time analysis.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or government contracting environment.
  • Understanding of compliance and audit requirements for materials and inventory data.
  • Exposure to SAP enhancement projects, testing, or system integrations.
