The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Summary

  • RWJBH is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for the Neurosurgery service
  • This is a night position with required weekend and holiday rotation

Essential Functions

  • Ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of acute patient care experience in neurosurgery with a desire for off shift work
  • Must be willing to become proficient at all inpatient bedside neurosurgical procedures
  • Surgical first assisting experience is also preferred
  • APN must have FNP/ RNFA certification in order to work in the operating room and with the pediatric population

Education

  • Graduate from NP program with certification in FNP with previous neurosurgical experience
  • NP can only be considered for the OR if they have their RNFA certification
  • Physician Assistants need to have graduated from accredited PA program

Experience

  • Prefer 3-5 years of critical care/ neurosurgical experience
  • Experience with working at night with autonomy
  • Must be comfortable communicating with attendings and providing accurate information to develop acute neurosurgical plans

Licenses and Certifications

  • Current NJ APN/PA license required
  • ONLY FNP will be considered due to pediatric population
  • NCCPA certification required
  • CDS required
  • DEA required
  • RN required
  • RNFA certification optional
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
