How you will make an impact:

  • Manage a set of general ledger accounts and the relationships with our sub-ledgers, ensuring accurate records, proper accounting treatment, and reporting within Peoplesoft, HFM, and Blackline.

  • Apply accounting controls and financial treatment to a specialized group of accounts.

  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Reconcile moderately complex bank accounts and sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolve any differences.

  • Act as a liaison with internal and external customers to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.

  • Review accounts, records, and other accounting documents for accuracy and proper accounting treatment.

  • Analyze and interpret contracts to ensure compliance with billing clauses.

  • Initiate corrective action on moderately complex issues.

  • Assist in the month-end close process, including monthly internal financial reporting for analysis, forecasting, and results analysis.

  • Review assigned account reconciliations, preparing proper corrective actions and accounting treatment in line with GAAP standards.

  • Establish and implement corporate accounting policies and procedures to ensure controls and compliance with guiding principles.

  • Research assigned accounting practices and summarize findings for management.

  • Work on various projects/initiatives as assigned by management that may include leveraging automation/AI tools, new product setup, data cleanup, acquisition integration, etc.

Experience you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 2+ years of relevant experience.

  • Proficiency in the use of relevant accounting applications, databases, and spreadsheets.

  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, and general analysis.

  • Knowledge of accounting and financial statements and the ability to analyze accounting transactions and financial statements.

  • Must be a self-motivated starter with effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
