POSITION SUMMARY

The Imaging Solutions team is responsible for the management of Imaging Solutions strategies within CU*Answers and among their credit union clients. Imaging Solutions developers work with the Imaging Solutions VP of Professional Services and the rest of the Imaging team to implement the strategies, features, and integrations necessary for our product offerings. The team coordinates with eDOC Innovations and other partners on product design and development, SDLC, and release management for all products and services. Imaging programmers also work with other programming teams within CU*Answer to integrate imaging and other solutions with other CU*Answers products and services.

The Programmer is responsible for supporting, building, expanding, and integrating various applications written on a variety of platforms including JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, C#, and other technologies as needed. The position also requires an understanding of the CU*Answers SDLC and QC processes and an affinity for strong relationships between partner development processes.

The ability to apply independent judgment is critical in managing complex tasks and making decisions that directly impact the organization's success. This includes assessing situations, analyzing available information, and evaluating potential risks and benefits to determine the best course of action. The individual in this role is expected to make well-informed decisions without constant supervision, addressing challenges with confidence and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values. This function involves balancing competing priorities, managing ambiguity, and handling urgent or sensitive matters with discretion.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Follow standards as outlined in the Programming Standards and Guidelines documentation.
  2. Write stable, reusable, testable, and efficient code in support of business goals and requirements.
  3. Extend existing services to support new integration opportunities.
  4. Integrate new technologies with existing platforms.
  5. Maintain and support legacy software systems.
  6. Release and configuration management for partner developed products and services.
  7. Keep up to date on the latest OS version, programming language levels and other industry releases.
  8. Support QC and production processes.
  9. Maintain a positive contribution as a member of the Programming Team.
  10. Work with other programming teams outside Imaging as directed.
  11. Exercise extensive independent judgment to assess complex situations, analyze information, and make decisions that align with organizational goals.
  12. Manage multiple priorities effectively, demonstrating discretion and sound decision-making across all responsibilities.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals and evolving business needs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Four-year degree in business-related, IT or project management field or equivalent work experience is required. Equivalent experience would be at least 2-3 years of working experience in programming.
  2. Experience developing web and desktop applications, services, and software testing.
  3. 2-3 years of experience with programing languages PHP, C#, JavaScript.
  4. Familiarity with database (MySQL, etc.), data formats (XML, JSON, etc.) and web presentation (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  5. Familiarity with API (REST, client/server) development and consumption.
  6. Familiarity with authentication and authorization methods.
  7. Familiarity with basic system administration (Windows, web services).
  8. Understanding of best practices for software development (Design Patterns, TDD, SOLID OOP, Revision Control).
  9. Ability to work in a multi-developer environment.
  10. Comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical clients, developers, and partners.
  11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  12. Ability to deal with external clients as well as internal staff.
  13. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  14. Ability to use discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential data.
  15. Ability to work effectively with other CU*Answers teams.
  16. Ability to operate telephone, photocopier, fax machines and PC workstation.
  17. Regular and predictable attendance.
