Job Summary:
The Professional Affairs Manager manages day-to-day unit operations and administrative functions, in collaboration with unit leadership. This role implements, and recommends changes to, policy and ensures the effective, compliant, and efficient completion of unit administrative operations. This role is the unit's primary point of contact for all matters relating to faculty affairs, human resources, space and IT needs serving as a liaison to central school and university representatives.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Leads faculty and staff recruiting, interviewing, hiring, on-boarding, mentoring, developing, promoting, discipline, termination, record management (including Visa requirements and reappointment schedules), etc.
- Reviews and recommends ideas to increase efficiencies, ensure consistent administration, and compliance.
- Ensures that all procedures and practices adhere to associated department budget.
- Ensures human resources programs, policies, & procedures are implemented & consistently applied.
- Executes and administers employee relations solutions.
- Maintains excellent working relationship with Office of Human Resources.
- Oversees day-to-day unit operations, including program and/or educational support, facilities management, IT liaison and compliance requirements.
- Oversees administrative support for the department which includes supervising 5+ program assistant

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors in business, accounting or a related field +3 years administrative experience including budgets, finance, grants, facilities, and/or human resources; or 5 years administrative experience.
Target hiring range for this position will be up to $88,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
