The Blending Lead will direct and coordinate day-to-day blending and large container production activities. Additionally, the lead will provide direction, training, and leadership to employees within the Blending Department. This employee will plan, organize, and carry out objectives related to production efficiency, utilization, safety, productivity, and quality. This position will ensure that customer needs are met through appropriate day-to-day allocation of people, equipment, and assets in the operations of the plant and will work with the management team, other Department leads, and Acentek personnel to prioritize tasks and assign resources cost effectively to meet the customers' needs. This position needs to have flexibility in their hours to work any shift, weekends, and as business dictates.

This position primarily works in our Golden Valley production facility and ideally would have flexibility in their hours to work weekends as business needs dictates.



  • Work with the team in meeting goals around safety practices, quality initiatives, and production demand in partnership with the Blending Manager.
  • Coach team members on blending processes, problem solving, and job set-up and change-over as needed.
  • Partner with Training Specialists and Supervisor on new and existing team members training needs and progression through training modules.
  • Plan and coordinate the flow of materials through the production area, from raw materials to finished products.
  • Recommend and participate in continuous improvement activities and process.
  • Develop and implement operating procedures designed to eliminate production problems and improve quality.
  • Assist in maintaining facility cleanliness and equipment cleanliness.
  • Review and analyze production, quality control, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
  • Become proficient in the use of Acentek's manufacturing & inventory control system (JDE).
  • Ownership of metrics with Operations Supervisor such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for measuring manufacturing productivity.
  • Ensure employees are following safety requirements and best safe practices.



      Education



      • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
      • Forklift operator experience desired, but not required


      Experience and/or Training



      • Enjoy working within team setting and collaborating with people to build relationships.
      • Ability to motivate and communication with others while driving toward operation goals.
      • Previous Manufacturing/Operations experience required.
      • Solid understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
      • Quality & Safety adherence.
      • Understanding of Lean Principles.
      • Strong communication & organizational skills
      • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)


      Technology/Equipment



      • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
      • Inventory Management System (JDE)



      PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:



      • Employee must have the ability to lift/carry up to 60 pounds occasionally and push/pull 76-100 pounds occasionally
      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or use hands, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk and climb staircases frequently.


      WORKING ENVIRONMENT:



      • Work performed in a warehouse environment and extreme heat (>70 degrees) during summer months
      • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - safety eye glasses and safety steel-toe shoes are required
      • Work hazards - Safety concerns to include heavy products, light and heavy-duty machinery, forklifts, working in a congested and high activity warehouse



      The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $29.00 - $32.00 hourly. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:

      2. Education and certifications: Any additional qualifications that enhance your ability to succeed in the role.
