Overview

First Citizens Bank offers an exciting summer internship program that provides development opportunities and hands-on work experience while creating a talent pipeline for the Bank. Our interns will apply classroom knowledge in a corporate environment while making a positive impact across the organization and the communities we serve.

FCB's Capital Markets group works alongside FCB's Commercial Finance, Middle Market Banking, and Innovation Bank divisions to provide financing solutions for its clients. FCB Capital Markets is hiring a 2026 Summer Analyst to support the Commercial Finance and Middle Market Banking businesses.


Responsibilities

FCB's Capital Markets team is responsible for structuring, pricing, and distributing all lead financings originated by FCB's various lending business units.

Summer Analysts in the Capital Markets group are responsible for supporting the Capital Markets team in several elements of deal execution:

  • Construct comparable company trading, M&A, and debt analyses to assist in the pricing and structuring of transactions
  • Prepare transaction materials (teasers, lender presentations, confidential information memoranda, etc.) to support the syndication of FCB-led financings
  • Actively participate in the investor outreach and diligence processes

Capital Markets Summer Analysts are also responsible for assisting the group with various market-related tasks:

  • Prepare and distribute FCB's Leveraged Loan Market Update
  • Maintain debt comparables for FCB's various business units
  • Prepare market update presentations for pitches, conferences, and internal meetings

Summer Analysts will further their development and expand their network through professional development sessions, information sessions, networking events, and community service events offered through the program.

Have a dedicated manager and program manager to help you navigate the bank and the internship program.

Internship dates: 5/27/2026 - 7/31/2026


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution (during the time of the summer program)
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3.5 GPA or higher
  • Strong desire to learn and grow
  • Possess a positive attitude, naturally curious and enjoys collaborating with others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to adapt and adjust priorities based on business needs
  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly
If hired in NY, the base pay for this position is generally between $22.44 and $34.32. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
