The Vice President of Inside Sales is responsible for the development and execution of an annual sales action plan, program(s) and directing the Inside Sales force to achieve sales objectives for the organization's products within given expense guidelines. Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. May determine methods and procedures for new assignments and thereby set new precedents. Tracks sales performance against objectives and informs management of results. Works on significant and unique issues or problems that requires an in-depth knowledge of own discipline and how it inter-relates to other disciplines. Understands and communicates the organization's products, services, functional area, business strategies and the company's goals. Hires, trains, mentors, coaches, and manages inside sales/call center staff. May manage relationships with channel partners or other major clients.


This position will be managing teams in our Chandler, AZ office.



Scope & Impact:



  • Sales & Expenses - Responsible for achieving budgeted revenue objectives across all programs and services.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities - Oversight of 5 Sales Managers and leads the Inside Sales organization of approximately 75 staff members. Liaise with Field Sales Management to develop selling strategies that maximize revenue from Inside Sales accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.



Primary Responsibilities:



  • Oversee management of Inside Sales and call center teams nationally.
  • Ensure the inside sales team is fully trained on the organization's products and services.
  • Communicate and instill company vision and strategy to the entire Inside Sales team.
  • Establish a strategic plan for Inside Sales focused on increasing sales revenues while reducing expenses with high levels of customer satisfaction in mind.
  • Ensure pipeline growth will sustain revenue targets to meet company revenue and expense goals.
  • Conduct forecast and pipeline review meetings with senior management and direct reports.
  • Based on student enrollment data and other metrics developed inside sales territories; collaborating with Field Sales management to determine Inside Sales accounts and determine goals.
  • Observe industry trends and report significant changes or opportunities to sales management and/or product management.
  • Hire, develop, evaluate, and motivate sales managers to increase productivity of their sales staff.
  • Serves as an escalation point for issues beyond team authority with customers; resolve team conflicts as necessary.
  • Assist with development of new sales materials and marketing plans.
  • Provide feedback to product development, marketing, program management, and other supporting departments regarding market trends, competition and changes in teacher licensure/recertification and other factors impacting sales



Required Knowledge and Experience:



  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Prior experience working within the public sector or public services industry with a focus on immediate responsiveness.
  • Experience in the Education space (instructional resources, technology, etc.) desired.
  • Requires 10+ years of senior management experience directing and leading large, successful Inside Sales teams, with demonstrable success in achieving financial targets.
  • Experience working collaboratively with field sales organizations to maximize sales and customer satisfaction results from Inside Sales selling efforts.
  • Experience with successfully managing a balanced budget & sales forecasting process with Senior Leadership and Finance partners.



Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:



  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a successful inside sales and call center team.


  • Demonstrated aptitude to learn and respond quickly and a commitment to excellence and service are paramount.
  • Developing strategic plans that support company goals; formulate effective strategies to find funding sources.
  • Positive outlook and approach to leadership.
  • Proficient with technology; Salesforce.com desirable.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven experience in developing and managing operating budgets.

  • Travel may be required.
